WaterWise Communities Program - FREE WATERWISE KIT

Port Pirie Regional Council has joined the State Government's WaterWise Communities program aiming to encourage communities to commit to responsible water use in an endeavour to reduce water consumption and our reliance on the River Murray.

To become involved in the Water for Good program, households, businesses and community groups are encouraged to register online at http://www.waterforgood.sa.gov.au/ to be eligible to receive a FREE WaterWise Kit. Once registered, the participant will receive an electronic confirmation which needs to be presented to Council to receive a WaterWise Communities Kit. (A manual registration form is also available from the Council Administration Centre, 115 Ellen Street, Port Pirie.)

The Kit for households includes a checklist of tips on how to use water wisely in the home and garden, a four minute shower timer, a personal water saving plan, a fridge magnet with water saving ideas, a bookmark, a gardening calendar, a letterbox sticker and a HCOME rebate booklet detailing water saving rebates available through SA Water.

The new initiative follows the success of the Swap and Save Showerhead Exchange Program.
