Port Pirie & District Family History Group

The Port Pirie District Family History Group was established in August, 2000.

Volunteer members are in the History Room at the Port Pirie Regional Library to help visitors on Fridays and Sundays between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

We meet at the library at 6pm on the first Tuesday of each month, where we have a short meeting followed by a friendly chat and a cuppa. Everyone is most welcome to come along. We often have guest speakers who discussed topics relating to our research.

PPDGHG is a non-profit organisation with the aim of our members being to preserve this history of our City, and families for future generations. We are a group of volunteers who will gladly help others who have the same interests.

Birth, Death and Marriage records are available plus Family Histories and reference books. Local and Interstate enquiries can be researched. We welcome enquiries by mail, addressed to the Research Officer (fee is applicable), and we will respond as soon as possible, given that all our workers are volunteers.

Postal requests for research MUST have a business sized pre-stamped envelope enclosed. The set charges for research are $15.00 per hour, for research carried out on your behalf, and /or $3.00 per Birth, Death or Marriage entry looked up for you
