Bowman Park Draft Management Plan

Have your say on the future of Bowman Park!

Port Pirie Regional Council has worked with the Crystal Brook Community Association and Bowman Park Management Committee to prepare a draft Management Plan for Bowman Park.

Bowman Park Management Plan - Draft

Overview of Plan

The draft Bowman Park Management Plan features short, medium and long-term considerations for the future use of Bowman Park.

The Draft Management Plan has the following key themes:

  • Environmental protection, interpretation and sustainability
  • The protection and interpretation of historical and cultural assets
  • Energised, active, healthy communities
  • Support a vibrant tourism industry
  • Enrich the lives of locals and visitors by enhancing opportunities for enjoyment of the park
  • Shared stewardship of the park

The Plan considers sensitive commercial investment could enhance and diversify the offerings available from Bowman Park, but recognizes the need to balance this with protecting the natural environment and preserving community use.

Next Stages

Following the public consultation, Port Pirie Regional Council will consider and agree upon any amendments required based on feedback received.

Once the plan is adopted, a staged implementation plan will be developed to determine key priorities and timing for future works.
