Nominations Open for Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Community Service
Nominations are now open for the Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Community Service!
The Certificate of Merit recognises individuals who are involved in a not-for-profit organisation and have made significant contributions to the community. Nominees must have a history of community involvement or have performed a single action of significance.
“Following on from the successful reintroduction of the Certificate of Merit last year, Port Pirie Regional Council has the opportunity to recognise those people within our community who deserve to be acknowledged and thanked for their contribution to our community, however may have been unsuccessful in receiving an Australia Day Award,” said Mayor Leon Stephens.
“I would like to see the Certificates being presented by our Elected Members, through their respective portfolios and community interests, along with myself, to suitably and proudly acknowledge the wonderful efforts being made by local community-spirited people,” said Mayor Stephens.
Certificates will be presented at the New Years Eve Celebrations to be held at the Port Pirie Foreshore Precinct (subject to COVID-19 restrictions at the time) or elsewhere in the region, depending on where the nomination is received from.
Nominations close on Friday 27th November 2020. Nomination forms and eligibility criteria can be found at:
