Tech Savvy Seniors SA Program Training

Tech Savvy Seniors Heading

Temporarily closed due to COVID -19

Are you a senior Citizen in the community that is interested in FREE digital training? If so, the Port Pirie Regional Library Service will be providing FREE Tech Savvy Seniors Training for members of the community that are 60+ years of age.

Tech Savvy Seniors is a partnership between the Libraries Board of South Australia, Telstra, the Office for the Ageing and Service SA. Training will begin in October this year and run through to July next year.

Why free training? In an increasingly online and digitally connected world, where daily interactions and government, business and social services are increasingly delivered online, digital technologies are now an integral part of life and a necessity for social and economic participation in the twenty first century.

The Australian Digital Inclusion Index (2019) reveals a significant digital divide in South Australia whereby it is the second least digitally included state in Australia. Furthermore, the Eyre and Nth regions of South Australia (that’s us) scored the lowest of all South Australians.  Thanks to the Libraries Board of South Australia, Telstra, the Office for the Ageing and Service SA we aim to overcome this problem.

Our brochure with our timetable can be downloaded here or alternately you can pick up a brochure at either the Port Pirie or Crystal brook Library. Staff are happy to answer any questions regarding courses and future workshops and can be contacted on 8633 8777.
