Clean Up Australia Day

Sunday 1 March 2020

Clean Up Australia Day this year will be held on Sunday, 1 March 2020.

The meeting point will be the carpark along the foreshore of Solomontown Beach, Port  Pirie at 10am.

Following the clean up a free sausage sizzle will be provided to participants at the main BBQ shelter of Solomontown Beach.

To pre-register to help with the clean up, or for more information regarding the other clean up sites and meeting times, phone Council on 8633 9751. Alternatively, you can search for a site to join at the Clean Up site by visiting the Clean Up Australia Day website

Free Waste Disposal Day

In conjunction with ‘Clean Up Australia Day’, Port Pirie Regional Council will offer residents  Free domestic hard waste disposal on Sunday, 1 March 2020.

Free disposal of waste will be accepted at the Port Pirie Transfer Station from 10am to 2pm and at the Crystal Brook Transfer Station from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

Free waste disposal will only apply on this day to:

  • Non commercial domestic waste such as general waste, green waste and domestic quantities of soil, rubble and bricks.
  • Items NOT included for free disposal are commercial hard waste, asbestos and hazardous waste.
