Resignation of Councillor Matt Perks
Given his decision to head overseas to pursue business interests, Councillor Matt Perks has tendered his resignation from Port Pirie Regional Council effective yesterday (August 8).
In accepting his resignation, Council would like to thank Cr Perks for his engagement in Local Government and his contribution to the Port Pirie Regional Council since he was elected in 2018. We wish Matt and his partner Ebony all the best in their pursuit of building a business overseas which we are sure they will be very successful with.
As required by the Local Government Act, Cr Perks’ resignation will be formally tabled at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council.
In line with Council’s Supplementary Election Policy and under the provisions of the Local Government (Elections) Act 1999, Council will not fill a casual vacancy until the next general election.
