Ordinary & Special Meetings of Council

Port Pirie Regional Council comprises the Mayor and 9 Councillors, and is the decision-making body on all policy matters. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month (with the exception of December) commencing at 6.30pm and are normally held in the Council Chambers at Council's Administration Centre, 115 Ellen Street, Port Pirie.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings, from 8 August 2020 until further notice, Council Meetings will be conducted electronically and live streamed online (excluding confidential items) - refer to the below Important Notice for further information.

Ordinary Meetings of Council scheduled for 2020 are as follows: 22 January; 26 February; 25 March; 22 April; 27 May; 24 June; 22 July; 26 August; 23 September; 28 October; 25 November and 16 December (TBC)

APRIL 2020 - IMPORTANT NOTICE:  PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE COUNCIL MEETINGS

Live Streaming of Council Meetings

Due to COVID-19 restrictions for public gatherings, from 8 August 2020 until further notice, Council Meetings will be conducted electronically and live streamed online (excluding confidential items).

This measure is in line with Australian Government guidelines in response to COVID-19 and has been taken to ensure the safety of Elected Members, Council staff and any members of the public who wish to access the meeting.  Recent variations to the Local Government Act and Regulations have made electronic participation in Council meetings legally possible.

Elected Members and Council Officers will attend the meetings via remote access.

Members of the public who wish to view the meetings will be able to do so online via live stream.

A link to view the council meeting via live stream will be accessible to the public at least 5 minutes before the scheduled meeting.

As the stream is live and only available while the meeting is running, no recording of it is available once the meeting concludes.
