Subsidised Cat & Dog Desexing Program
Subsidised Cat & Dog Desexing Program
Need Help with the Cost of Desexing Your Pet?
Port Pirie Regional Council's Cat & Dog Desexing Contribution Program is available to help eligible residents access affordable desexing for their pets while promoting responsible pet ownership, improving animal welfare and reducing unwanted litters across our community.
This program replaces the previous NDN desexing program, providing a clear and accessible way for eligible residents to receive financial assistance towards the cost of desexing their cats and dogs.
Council Contributions
Through the program, Council contributes:
Cats
- $150 towards cat desexing
- Cat Castrate: Owner contribution from $30
- Cat Spey: Owner contribution from $130
Dogs
- $250 towards dog desexing
- Contributions available for both male and female dogs
- Additional costs may apply depending on the animal's age, size and treatment requirements
Please refer to the information sheets below for full details, including owner contributions, eligibility requirements and program conditions.
