Fishing In & Around Port Pirie
There are restrictions on eating recreationally caught seafood from Port Pirie waters due to a health risk.
Some fish, crabs, mussels and razorfish in and around Port Pirie contain high levels of heavy metals. The high levels of heavy metals in some species in designated areas is harmful and they are not safe to eat.
