Access and Inclusion Reference Group (AIRG)

Access and Inclusion Reference Group

Bringing community voices and lived experience together to help improve accessibility and inclusion across the Port Pirie region.

About the Group

The Access and Inclusion Reference Group (AIRG) provides advice to Port Pirie Regional Council about accessibility and inclusion for people with disability.

The group brings together community members, elected members and Council staff to share lived experience, identify barriers and help improve access to Council services, facilities, information and community participation.

Our Purpose

AIRG helps Council create a welcoming and inclusive region where people of all abilities can participate in community life.

  • Inform Council projects, services and facilities.
  • Support consultation and co-design.
  • Connect Council with community members and service providers.
  • Contribute to Council's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
  • Encourage practical improvements in accessibility and inclusion.

Our Role

AIRG is an advisory group. It provides recommendations, feedback and lived-experience perspectives to Council.

The group does not make binding decisions or financial commitments on behalf of Council.
