Have Your Say: Council's Draft Community Land Management Plans

Published 10th September 2026

Port Pirie Regional Council is seeking community feedback on a revised suite of Community Land Management Plans. Council's existing Community Land Management Plan was adopted in 2018 and provides a framework for the management of community land across the Council area.

Following a review of the existing Plan, Council has prepared a revised suite of 10 category-based Community Land Management Plans. This approach is intended to provide greater clarity around the purpose, management objectives and performance measures that apply to different types of community land.

The draft Community Land Management Plans cover the following categories:

  • Sports Grounds
  • Community Parks
  • Road Reserves, Screening and Buffer Reserves
  • Drainage Reserves
  • Cemeteries and Memorials
  • Community and Commercial Tenancy
  • Natural Reserves, Coastal Reserves and Roadside Vegetation
  • Council Operational Facilities
  • Miscellaneous
  • Temporary Accommodation Site

The plans identify the type of land to which each plan applies, the purpose of the land holdings, Council's management objectives and proposals, and performance targets and measures.
