Nominations Now Open for Port Pirie's 2027 Australia Day Awards
Port Pirie Regional Council is calling on residents to help celebrate the people, groups and events that make a positive difference across our region, with nominations now open for the 2027 Australia Day Awards.
The annual awards provide an opportunity to recognise outstanding contributions to the community and honour those who demonstrate dedication, leadership, community spirit and service to others.
Nominations are now invited for the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
From volunteers and mentors to sporting leaders, fundraisers, organisers and community champions, the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards acknowledge individuals who have made a significant impact on the lives of others.
The Community Event of the Year category celebrates events that bring people together, foster community pride and contribute to the vibrancy of the Port Pirie Regional Council area.
Whether it's an individual who quietly gives their time to help others or a community event that has brought people together, these awards are an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions that help make our region a great place to live.
