1001 Books Before School Challenge

At the Library we love to see parents and carers reading to small children. That is why we are running the “1001 Books Before School Challenge,” a fun and interactive way to encourage reading together with your pre-schooler.

Join up at the Port Pirie or Crystal Brook libraries to receive a logbook to record your reading adventures. Check in regularly at the Library to report your progress and collect fun prizes.

Children who complete the Challenge will be awarded a Certificate and Book Voucher.

Children's Book Week

Held annually in August, Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia. Each year the library invites schools and kindergartens to visit the Library to participate in story-telling and a craft activity based on the year's theme.
