Adelaide Square Toilet Block Upgrade

Published 21st October 2021

Port Pirie Regional Council is upgrading Crystal Brook’s main public toilet facility in Adelaide Square to make life more comfortable and convenient for those shopping in the main street and families enjoying the Adelaide Square playground.

Council recognises the importance of having clean, comfortable amenities in our town centres. A new urinal has recently been installed in response to complaints about the smell of the previous facility.

A new septic system will be installed at the Adelaide Square toilet block next Wednesday, 27 October. This will increase the capacity of the septic to cater for both locals and the increasing number of tourists passing through Crystal Brook, a number that is expected to continue growing with the development of the Southern Flinders National Park and Silver 2 Sea Way projects.

The Adelaide Square toilet block and playground will be closed for one day (27 October) to ensure public safety while the works are conducted. Alternative public toilets will be available at the Crystal Brook Library in Bowman Street and at Jubilee Park on Railway Terrace.

Council has committed through its Community Plan 2020-2025 to improve the lifestyle and wellbeing of our local residents and anticipates these works will encourage the Crystal Brook community and visitors to spend more time enjoying the town centre.
