Alexander Street Lighting Works
Street lighting in the Port Pirie CBD will receive an upgrade with works scheduled to start in Alexander Street next week.
Electrical in-ground infrastructure will be replaced in the section of Alexander Street between Gertrude Street and Florence Street. There will also be replacements to the existing roadside lighting post top luminaries and columns.
Minor modifications will also be carried out to the existing lighting infrastructure on Alexander Street between Florence Street and Ellen Street (southern side of Alexander Street only).
Works will start on Monday 13 January 2020 and are expected to be completed by Friday 7 February 2020. These works will be conducted Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 4.30pm.
A speed restriction of 25km/h will be in place for the duration of the works. Council and the contractor will endeavour to minimise any inconvenience to retailers and residents during this period.
