Beach Shelter Demolition Works

As part of the Port Pirie Riverbank Precinct Master Plan Stage 1 works, Council’s contractor will begin demolition of the main shelter at Solomontown Beach this week to make way for the proposed new beach deck and shade sail structure.
Demolition and removal works are due to commence on Thursday 19 September and should be completed by 25 September 2024.
While these works take place, access to the beach via the steps at the shelter will be restricted.
It is anticipated that works to construct the new beach deck and shade sails will commence in October 2024.
