Community Survey Now Open

Published 9th October 2023

Port Pirie Regional Council has released the 2023 Community Survey – a valuable opportunity for the community to contribute to Council’s services and priorities for the next five years.

The Community Survey was last conducted in 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Three years later, there have been significant changes to our community as the Port Pirie Region enters an exciting period of growth and transformation.

Council’s Community Plan is a strategic plan outlining targets and priorities for our region for the next five years. Councils are required to review their Community Plans within two years of a general election (the last of these being November 2022).

The Community Survey is the first stage of the Community Plan Review process and seeks to gain valuable input from our residents about Council facilities and services, including:

  • How often residents use Council facilities and services
  • Which Council facilities and services are most important to our community
  • Council’s performance regarding its facilities and services (including customer service)
  • How Council can best communicate with the community
  • Ideas for future priorities for the Council region.

It is extremely important for residents to take the time to have their say to ensure Council’s revised Community Plan is representative of all sectors of the community. The survey is designed with tick box options and areas to make further comment if desired to keep it brief and relevant.

The Community Survey is available online here or in print form at the following locations:

  • Council Administration Centre, 115 Ellen Street, Port Pirie
  • Port Pirie Library, 3 Wandearah Road, Port Pirie
  • Crystal Brook Office, Bowman Street, Crystal Brook

The review of the Community Plan will also include groups and sectors within our community being invited to present to Council so that Council can better understand their needs and priorities in the future and how local government can align with these.

Survey closes at 5.00pm Friday 3 November 2023.
