Council Road Assets Inspection

Published 23rd January 2020

A major inspection of Council roads and road assets has started this week and will shape Council’s works program.

Condition assessments of all road assets in the region are conducted every five years and the results are used to inform Council’s 10 Year Capital Works Plan. This creates a program of works to maintain and upgrade roads and road assets as required.

The road assets being inspected include:

  • Sealed roads
  • Footpaths
  • Kerbs
  • Traffic control devices
  • Spoon drains that are not part of the kerb network

Council has engaged contractor Tonkin Consulting to perform the assessments which are expected to continue until the end of February 2020.
