Council's Road Reseal Program

Road preparation works have been conducted in Port Pirie, Crystal Brook and Redhill in readiness for Port Pirie Regional Council’s annual Road Reseal Program.

A combined area of more than 38,460 square metres  across 19 roads will be upgraded as part of the annual program, with sealing works to be undertaken between Thursday 8 and Thursday 15 April 2021 by Council’s appointed contractor Boral. These works also include 6 unsealed roads identified by Council as a priority to be sealed through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Port Pirie Regional Council has completed preparation works, including the installation of road base material and kerb and water table replacement as required, and has been working with directly affected residents as works have progressed.

The roads being upgraded are:

Annual Road Reseal Program

  • Angle Street (from Wright Street to end)
  • Anzac Road (from Moppett Road to Goode Road)
  • Breage Street Lane (from Broadway Road to end)
  • Cheesman Avenue (from Senate Road to end of Cheesman Avenue)
  • Degenhardt Street (from Yates Street to Kingston Road)
  • Heywood Avenue (from Halley Street to Regent Street)
  • Magor Road (from Old Steam Train Road to 600m east)
  • Dorothy Street (from Simpson Road to John Street)
  • Afton Street (from James Street to Wandearah Road)
  • Flett Street (from Esmond Road to Halliday Street)
  • Weston Road (from Eyre Road Extension to Goyder Highway)
  • Bowman Street (Crystal Brook North Side – from Railway Terrace to Eyre Road)
  • Bowman Street (Crystal Brook South Side – from Railway Terrace to Eyre Road)
  • Recreation ground access road from Ellis Street to end of seal (Redhill)

Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program

  • Mallyon Street (from Three Chain Road to Eunice Street)
  • Rupara Street (from Annie Street to York Road)
  • Hemmons Street (from Maude Street to York Road)
  • Miell Terrace (from Maude Street to York Road)
  • Maude Street (from Anzac Road to Miell Terrace)
  • Balmoral Street Lane (from The Terrace to Wandearah Road)

Driveway access may be temporarily closed and some sections of the road may be inaccessible for a short period of time while works are conducted. Boral will notify all residents and businesses directly affected by these works.

Once works are completed, vehicles can drive on the new resealed surface at low speeds with care.
