COVID-19 Rates Assistance Available
Port Pirie Regional Council understands the financial uncertainty many residents and businesses are facing as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. During these difficult times, Council is committed to working with our community to support them.
Council has already established a period of no fines or interest on late rate payments until 30 June 2020. This is outlined in Council’s Financial Hardship Policy which contains a range of options for Council to assist ratepayers ranging from payment plans, waiving of fines and interest and also rates.
The COVID-19 situation is continually changing and we will be monitoring the situation to understand how we can best help the community with financial support measures. This will be balanced with the need to ensure that the provision of Council services can continue at an appropriate level.
