Free Face Masks Available to Community
Port Pirie Regional Council is providing free face mask packs to the community to help in the fight against COVID-19.
At this time in South Australia, it is not mandatory for the general community to wear masks but it is recommended when out in public if you are unable to physically distance. Masks act as a physical barrier to stop the spread of COVID-19.The State Government has directed mandatory mask use in all health care environments and for employees at hairdressers, beauty salons and similar businesses (full information on mask use can be found atwww.sahealth.sa.gov.au/COVID2019)

We also encourage the community to continue to comply with State Government and SA Health directions and to help to keep ourselves and others safe by:
- Practicing good hygiene (covering coughs/sneezes, hand washing, wiping surfaces).
- Staying 1.5 metres apart from others.
- Staying home if you are unwell.
