Have Your Say on Council’s Draft Asset Management Strategy and Plan
Port Pirie Regional Council is inviting community feedback on its Draft Asset Management Strategy and Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan 2025-2034, with public consultation now open.
The draft documents outline how Council plans to manage, maintain, renew and improve community assets over the next decade, ensuring essential infrastructure continues to meet the needs of a growing and changing community in a financially sustainable manner.
Council owns and manages a diverse portfolio of assets that support the delivery of services across the region. These include the Port Pirie Aerodrome, Community Waste Management Scheme, roads, footpaths, drainage networks, buildings, cemeteries, recreation facilities, marine infrastructure, waste management assets, as well as plant and equipment.
With infrastructure assets currently holding an estimated replacement value of approximately $485 million, effective asset management plays a vital role in maintaining service levels and supporting the long-term wellbeing of the community.
Feedback received during the consultation period will help Council better understand community priorities, inform future investment decisions and ensure service levels reflect the expectations of residents and stakeholders.
