Have Your Say: Solomontown Boat Ramp Car Park Improvements
Port Pirie Regional Council plans to improve the current layout of the car park area located at Solomontown Boat Ramp to improve traffic flow and useability.
The main aim is to improve manoeuvrability into the boat ramp by adding a drive through lane and a new rigging / de-rigging area for boat users. Works are also proposed to adjust the car park configuration to encourage vehicles without boat trailers to park in smaller bays.
The new design options are in accordance with SA Boating Facility Advisory Committee (SABFAC) Guidelines for Planning, Design and Construction of Boat Launching Facilities.
Works are scheduled to commence late April - early May 2023 and are made possible with grant funding from the Recreational Fishing, Boating and Camping Facilities Fund through the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA).
Consultation opened on Thursday 2 March 2023 and will close at 5.00pm on Friday 31 March 2023.
We encourage the community to complete our survey to provide feedback on the proposed improvements to the current Solomontown Boat Ramp Car Park area and help identify the best layout.
