Information for New Residents
Port Pirie Regional Council has created an single source of information to support new residents moving to the Port Pirie Region.
The Welcome To New Residents webpage has been developed on the Port Pirie Regional Council website as a one-stop hub for people who have moved or are considering moving to Port Pirie. It includes a Welcome message from Mayor Leon Stephens, links to Council’s A-Z Services Guide and information including kerbside collection dates, events, schools and childcare, local attractions and how to contact Council.
Council has worked with stakeholders including State Government and the Environmental Health Centre to create this resource, which replaces the hard copy information packages that were distributed from Council previously. A digital format was deemed most appropriate, as the webpage contains links to both Council and external sources of information and can therefore remain accurate and relevant as the linked information is updated.
Postcards featuring a QR code linking to the website are available to be picked up from the following locations:
- Council offices (Administration Centre in Ellen Street, Port Pirie Library, Port Pirie Visitor Information Centre and Crystal Brook Office)
- Real estate agents
- Local schools, kindergartens and childcare centres
- UniHub and TAFE Port Pirie
- Large employers and businesses attracting employees from outside of Port Pirie including Nyrstar, Port Pirie Regional Health Service, doctors’ clinics and SA Police.
- TLAP
- Environmental Health Centre
- Uniting Country SA
- Port Pirie Aquatic & Leisure Centre.
