KESAB School Visits April 2021
Published 6th April 2021
Port Pirie Regional Council is once again proud to partner with KESAB to deliver a series of educational sessions in schools in Port Pirie and the region.
KESAB will be visiting Port Pirie West Primary School, Airdale Primary School and Napperby Primary School this week, providing students with incursions and Bin Material Audit sessions. These sessions will help educate local children about the importance of recycling and what materials go in which kerbside bins.
Sessions include:
- Beeswax Wrap – Beeswax wrap workshops allow students and staff to create their own personalised plastic-free alternative to cling wrap.
- Litter Less – The Litter Less incursion focuses on awareness, understanding and actioning of litter issues at school, in the community and the environment.
- Recycling Relay – This unique relay sees children work in relay teams to sort real life items into landfill, recycling and organics bins replicating the kerbside collection system.
Airdale Primary School will be involved in a Bin Material Audit funded by Wipe Out Waste. The results will be compared to Airdale’s last audit in 2014 and used for a case study which will be shared with other sites in the region.
