Mid North Unveiled - Call for Entries to Showcase Local Talent

Published 13th September 2024

The Port Pirie Regional Tourism and Arts Centre is thrilled to announce Mid North Unveiled, our dynamic new platform for local artists, makers, creatives, artisans, and producers to showcase their talent and craftsmanship.

This unique opportunity highlights locally made products, offering retail residency at the Port Pirie Regional Tourism and Arts Centre, both on-site and online, bringing regional excellence to the forefront of our community. This is a great opportunity to promote your products to visitors and locals alike.

We are looking for a diverse range of submissions that reflect the creativity and craftsmanship of the Mid North. This includes:

  • Handcrafted Goods: Ceramics, textiles, woodwork, and jewellery that showcase your artisanal skills.
  • Original Artworks: Paintings, drawings, printmaking, sculpture, and photography that highlight your artistic vision.
  • Artisan Products: Preserves, oils, dried goods and non-alcoholic specialty beverages crafted with care.

We are inviting product submissions from local creators and producers across three exciting categories:

  • For the Young and Young at Heart: Items that spark joy, creativity, and learning for all ages – ranging from toys and books to puzzles and games.
  • For the Home: Products that bring warmth and personality to living spaces, such as prints, ceramics, toiletries, local crafts, furnishings, or decorative pieces.
  • For the Look: Items that elevate and express personal style, including bags, jewellery, accessories, scarves, hats, and locally produced fashion.

This is your chance to shine and have your work featured in the heart of Port Pirie, with the Southern Flinders Ranges as a stunning backdrop. Selected creators will have the opportunity to exhibit their creations at the Port Pirie Regional Tourism and Arts Centre, reaching a diverse audience of locals and visitors.

“Our aim is to spotlight the exceptional talent within the Mid North community,” said Ursula Halpin, Gallery and Cultural Coordinator for Port Pirie Regional Council.

“Mid North Unveiled will give local creators the platform they deserve to present their products to a wider audience," said Natalie Waite, Tourism Team Leader.
