Online Art Exhibition
The Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery will be hosting an online exhibition – and is calling on YOU to get involved!
In conjunction with the Art Gallery of South Australia’s ‘Start At Home Activities Program’, the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery has issued its first Art Challenge to all artists in the region.
This challenge asks artists to create a narrative portrait, inspired by the artworks of Brisbane-based artist Ryan Presley. Presley has carefully studied the lines, patterns and colours of Australian banknotes before reinventing the currency as a celebration of Aboriginal history. Presley’s father’s family are Marri Ngarr people from the Northern Territory.
Artists can learn about Presley’s rich practice at:

All artworks will be showcased in an online exhibition as well as through the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
Photos and the stories behind artworks can be emailed to Council’s Gallery and Cultural Arts Coordinator Ursula Halpin at uhalpin@pirie.sa.gov.au
