Quiet Achievers Deserve Loud Applause – Nominations Open for Certificate of Merit

Published 30th September 2025

Port Pirie Regional Council is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Community Service.

These awards shine a spotlight on the many quiet achievers who make a meaningful impact in our community. Each year, multiple individuals are recognised for their dedication, generosity, and service – whether through ongoing involvement or a single significant act.

The Certificate of Merit honours residents of the Council region who have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service.

Mayor Leon Stephens shared his thoughts on the importance of the award:

“Every year, we’re inspired by the incredible stories of selfless individuals who give their time and energy to help others. The Certificate of Merit is our way of saying thank you and giving these unsung heroes the recognition they truly deserve. I encourage everyone to think about someone who’s made a difference and take a moment to nominate them.”

Certificates of Merit will be presented to recipients at the Port Pirie New Year’s Eve celebrations to be held on 31 December 2025.
