RAA EV Charging Hub Launch

Published 6th May 2024

Are you a Port Pirie local with an interest in EVs?

Good news: On Saturday 11 May, RAA will be launching its first EV Charging Hub in Port Pirie. Come down and help us celebrate together with a FREE sausage sizzle, locally baked sweets and barista-made coffee!

Located just 7km off the Augusta Highway, the Port Pirie Charging Hub is the first mega-charging site to be rolled out as part of the state’s border-to-border RAA Charge network.

Whether you’re an EV owner or just curious about your town’s newest development, come along and chat to the expert RAA Charge team at the Port Pirie Regional Arts & Tourism Centre (right next to Subway).

Mayor Leon Stephens will be in attendance alongside representatives from the Department for Energy and Mining and the RAA Charge team.

We can’t wait to see you, your family and friends from 11am – 2pm on 11 May 2024 to chat about all things EVs, EV charging hubs and what the RAA Charge network means for the Port Pirie community.

About the RAA Charge network:

The RAA Charge network is South Australia’s first border-to-border electric vehicle charging network, with 75% of charging sites located in regional South Australia.

Once completed later this year, the charging network will cover 140 locations with over 530 charging points with almost all of them located no more than 200km apart – making range anxiety a thing of the past.

This network is being delivered with the support of a $12.35 million grant provided by the Government of South Australia.
