Retirement of Council CEO
Port Pirie Regional Council is saddened to announce the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer Peter Ackland who has been Council’s Chief Executive since April 2018.
Peter recently notified Mayor Leon Stephens of his intention to retire from Local Government and will finish up in late July.
Mayor Stephens thanks Peter for his service to Council and his commitment to the Port Pirie Regional Council community.
“Peter has advised me that, after much consideration, he intends to retire from Local Government. On behalf of Council’s Elected Members and staff, I wish to thank Peter for his commitment and diligent work during his time with us and wish him well,” Mayor Stephens said.
“I would like to personally thank Peter for his leadership, accessibility and collaboration with the elected body.”
Council will now commence the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer and in the interim, between Peter finishing up and a new Chief Executive commencing, Council will appoint an interim Chief Executive Officer.
