Stormwater Works in Port Pirie

Published 14th October 2021

Port Pirie Regional Council is conducting a series of stormwater works around Port Pirie to improve drainage and local infrastructure.

Council has committed to improving our infrastructure and creating a more sustainable lifestyle for residents to enjoy and this project is among several taking place in the next 12 months to achieve this vision.

Stormwater assets will be replaced at the following locations:

  • The Terrace at the corner of Revell Street
  • Alpha Terrace between Main Road and King Street
  • Beach Road (near the speed hump next to the toilet block)

These works are scheduled to start on Monday 18 October. Temporary road closures will be in place for 1-2 days each. These road closures will be at one site at a time and will roll over to the next site once completed.

Stormwater pipes will be relined at the following locations:

  • Corner of Norman Street and Ellen Street
  • Corner of Parks Street and Main Road

These works are scheduled to start on Thursday 21 October and conclude on Friday 29 October.

These works are non-destructive and there will be a small impact to the public through lowered speeds and reduced parking.

All works mentioned above are subject to favourable weather conditions.

Port Pirie Regional Council thanks the community for their cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
