Trimming of Main Road Palm Trees

Published 26th October 2021

Port Pirie Regional Council has committed to improving the main streets and entrances to Port Pirie as part of our Community Plan 2020-2025. This will provide a lasting first impression for visitors as well as creating a beautiful city centre for the community to enjoy.

As part of this commitment, a Council contractor will be trimming the Main Road palm trees. The works have started today (Tuesday 26 October) and are expected to take five days (depending on the wind and weather conditions). One lane of traffic will be closed off during the works for safety reasons.

The palm trees in Florence Street will be trimmed at a later date.

Council looks forward to providing further updates on works to beautify and upgrade Port Pirie’s city centre in the near future.
