War Grave Improvements

The War Graves area of the Port Pirie Cemetery will have sections of lawn replaced over the coming weeks.
Council will replace the old turf at the last four beams closest to the Lone Pine Tree with new roll out turf. This involves spraying the old turf/weeds with glyphosate before using machinery to prepare the site and then lay the new turf.
Council will also be installing new irrigation and turf to the next lawn beam area (new lawn beam).
The work is expected to be completed before the end of May, weather permitting.
During this time, not all areas of the War Graves section will be accessible to the public. We aim to minimise any disruption and inconvenience and thank the community for your cooperation.
