Youth Reference Group

Published 30th April 2024

Young people living within the Council region will have more opportunities to have their voice heard through the establishment of a new Youth Reference Group.

Port Pirie Regional Council has voted to establish a Youth Reference Group to support the aims of Council’s strategic plan regarding youth inclusion, youth activities, connection to services and having a youth voice to Council.

The Youth Reference group will consist of 10 members between the ages of 15 and 24 years and will be facilitated by Port Pirie Regional Council with assistance from Uniting Country SA. This group will be responsible for assisting Council with ideas for events and projects, whilst supporting decision making directly affecting youth in our Council region.

Port Pirie Regional Council is seeking a diverse range of individuals with a passion to learn and foster an inclusive community. These group members will provide thoughts and ideas on how Council can work alongside youth to achieve great things.

The Youth Reference Group will be stablished prior to 30 June 2024.

Port Pirie Regional Council will soon release Expressions of Interest for people aged 15-24 years living in our Council area who wish to join the Youth Reference Group. Keep an eye on Council’s website, social media and local media for further information on the Expression of Interest process.
