A More Welcoming Entrance to Port Pirie

Published 13th March 2024

Over the next few weeks, Council will be undertaking several improvements to the Warnertown Road roundabout located at the entrance to Port Pirie.

Council will begin to remove the vegetation from within the Warnertown roundabout, replacing it with new sub irrigation and lawn. The existing tree in the centre of the roundabout will remain.

These works will provide better lines of sight around and through the roundabout and will also make future maintenance more efficient, as Council currently needs to implement traffic restrictions to work safely within the roundabout to trim these shrubs.

Over the next few weeks, we will also see the installation of Council’s new LED Welcome Sign. This will replace the previous ‘What’s On’ signs which were located at each entrance into Port Pirie.

The LED Welcome Sign is located on the north-west corner of the roundabout, behind the existing ‘City of Opportunity’ stone wall and will display static messages to promote local events and other key messages.
