Have Your Say on Council's Dog and Cat Management Plan

Published 15th February 2024

Port Pirie Regional Council is seeking community feedback on its draft Dog and Cat Management Plan 2024-2029.

The Dog and Cat Management Plan will guide Council’s management practices over the next five years and covers a wide range of matters relating to dogs and cats in our region.

The Plan has been prepared by Council to provide a planned approach to undertaking its responsibilities pursuant to the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 and in line with the Council’s Community Plan (2016-2025) for the provision of appropriate controls for Dog and Cat Management.

The Plan includes information around Council’s role in managing domestic dogs and cats, responsible pet ownership as well as on-leash, off-leash and dog exclusion areas in our region.

All residents are invited to provide feedback on the Dog and Cat Management Plan during the consultation period by completing an Online Survey.

Visit Council’s website for further information: www.pirie.sa.gov.au/noticeboard/consultation.
