Memorial Drive Improvements

Published 28th April 2022

From early next week, Council will have a contractor on-site along Memorial Drive in Port Pirie to start replacing a large proportion of kerb and water table.

While on site, the contractor will also realign the crossing point from Memorial Park onto The Terrace shared pathway on the eastern side of the roundabout, helping to improve pedestrian access and safety near this busy intersection.

Additionally, Council’s contractor will also reduce the large road depression near Pirie West Oval.

These works will take several weeks to complete and are subject to favourable weather conditions. Traffic management will be in place and we thank the community for their cooperation in following the signage and speed restrictions.

Future works along Memorial Drive will include reconstruction of the pavement and resurfacing in 2023.
