Port Pirie Australia Day Awards

Published 12th October 2021

Do you know someone who strives to make our community a better place?

Nominations are now open for Port Pirie’s Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards. These awards will be proudly presented to the winners on Australia Day, 26 January 2022.

There are three categories in which nominations can be submitted:

  • Citizen of the Year Award
  • Young Citizen of the Year Award
  • Community Event of the Year Award.

These awards recognise individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the community.

“The Citizen of the Year award is no doubt the highest accolade that can be bestowed on a member of our community. I encourage you to think about the people around you who perform outstanding work and take the time to nominate them. Make that difference in someone’s life you believe needs to be recognised,” said Mayor Stephens.

Winners of the Council Awards can also go in the running for the State Awards, to be presented by the Governor of South Australia.

Nominations close Friday 26th November 2021.
